Why a Multi-Dealer Mall Is the Best Place to Hunt

By Harriet Voss · October 14, 2025

You can chase antiques at estate sales, single-owner shops or online listings, but a multi-dealer mall has quiet advantages that keep regulars coming back week after week.

Variety is the obvious one. Forty dealers means forty different eyes and forty different specialties under one roof, so a single afternoon can turn up a mid-century credenza, a wall of vintage industrial lighting and a case of costume jewelry within a few steps of each other.

Turnover is the quiet one. Because every dealer restocks on their own schedule, the floor is never the same twice. That is why the best advice we give is simple: stop in often, and stop in soon after an estate season.

And then there is the company. A good mall is a place to learn, to ask questions and to be talked out of a mistake by someone who knows better. Ours has done exactly that for the Chicagoland area for over fourteen years. Come find us in Edgewater.
